ok so last week I was autocrossing and I spun out coming out of a tight corner. I got into the throtle to much and my tires started to spin I thought that they could hook back up so I stayed on it. but it didint hook back up and I had a little spin so I recover and finish my run and when I’m waiting in line for my next run one of the course workers comes up to me and says that this little rubber piece fell of my car when I spun. When I saw it I was completely stumped about what it was and since I hadn’t noticed any problems it didn’t worry me to much
So my question is do you know what the heck this piece is
It is about 2 in. wide and it has a bmw roundel on it and it also has a part #

hmm. i cant think what else it would be.
Some engine accessories had rubber caps over the axis bolts (AC, water pump, alternator etc.) Looks like that to me.

OH OH OH I know what that is! Atleast I think it do. There is a metal brace and rubber stoper that attaches to the bottom of the transmission. This piece is suposed to stop the engine from tilting too far back I guess if the trany mount ever broke or somthing. Anyay its a black metal piece that bolts onto the bottom of the trany bell housing and points towards the front of the car. The rubber stop goes next to the front sub frame. Neather of my cars ever had one of those, its pretty pointless if you ask me.

great it funny that you say it is that because before I made this thread I was looking under my car to see if it was anything obvious but I didn’t find anything Except I noticed the bar that you were talking about and that there was a significant gap between the engine and the end of the bar so I had considered it a possibility but I wasn’t sure because I didn’t have the chance to get a good enough look at it. hmm ill have to see if I can get another one online or from a junk car
So Jay is the winner of this thrilling game
