I'm looking to replace my hybrid T3/T4 by a T4, but I don't want to replace the existing manifold (524TD). To install my set up I was in the need to install a 2" spacer between the plate of the manifold and the Turbo. I want to use a spacer with a transition from a T3 base manifold to a base for a T4 turbo. Nobody has tried this??? I don't think that is required to modify my manifold.
Your sincere input will be appreciated.

Jose

I thinknk you can just cut off the t3 flange and weld on a t4. Am i wrong?

you can't cut the flange off of the 524td mani because its cast. You can't weld cast iron. You could however buy a t3 flange and a t4 flange and construct a transition between them. But I'm not sure the 524td mani can effectivly flow enough to make this mod worth while.

If you did do this, you'd have (1) stock flange (2) t3 flange (3) t4 flange... your looking at an additional 1-1.5" in height.
