Hey guys,
Today I was backing up into my driveway and I turn the wheel right to aline the car....the wheel stop turning like it was caught on something. Then I tried it again but harder and I heard a pop/crank.....I looked and everythiing was fine.

But then I look underheath the car, the passenger "CV type" boot has a nice chuck of metal pierced right though it. Both wheels still turns fine.

Is it safe to drive still?
Can I find these at a junk yard?
Is it easy to replace since I am a novice DIY'er....?

Thanks guys, you're a great help to me

From your description it sounds like a broken tie rod. Very easy to replace.
Just make sure you replace both sides at the same time.

Who deleted my post? All i said was noone mentioned he needs to replace the boot too, since it has a big piece of metal sticking through it.
