I read somewhere on here that there is a website that can match your paint from a chip you mail in and put it in a rattle can, but I can't remember the name. Does anyone know the name, or a link to their site?

on a side thought, can most body shops/paint stores do this also?

Most real autobody/paint supply places should be able to. I've had it done locally.

usually 20$ for a can of matched paint. most paint stores can. my homedepot does it.

Milwaukee Paint does it for me. Just under $20 a can, with really nice nozzles.

I guess my homedepot has a business inside of it, thats why they had auto paint, they get a portion of sales.

I got some at the eurodepot. They do exact bmw colors. I used to paint my is spoiler and it came out pretty good.

Dupli-color sells factory paint code colors. Like 6 bucks a can at pep boys.

You'll never get the results you want from a spray can though. I'd only use it on a very small area and more than likely you'll have a fog where you try to blend in the color and the clear coats.

Duplicolor has very few BMW colors. They list close colors, but they aren't very good matches. For my Alpine White 146 they used to list a "antique white" that was far too beige, while a closer match was one of their GM colors (and even that wasn't close enough for touch-up work, just good enough for e.g. mirrors with no side-by-side surface comparison).

If you have a NAPA with in-store paint mixing, that's the least expensive approach. But only a small fraction of the NAPA stores do this.
