How do you know if a Thermostat is broken..

I know I need a new fanclutch but when I'm doing high speeds my car is still running very hot..??

How much is a new one?? How much labour..? What has to come apart..?

How much should I pay for a fanclutch also??

Should I do the timing belt it's only got 30000km on it or 2 years..

Thermostat is about $14-$20 depends on where you buy.3 different setting available. i run the coldest with no problems...i live in texas so i need it.Takes about 10-15 min at most to replace it.Same goes for the fan clutch.you need a special wrench for the fan clutch.Ebay has them for like $15. Timing belt is ALWAYS a good idea.Just do it all yourself and save take your woman out with the cash saved.

Quick way to check if the thermostat is bad- Get the car fully warmed up, and then grab both of the big radiator hoses. If the top one is much hotter than the bottom, then the thermostat isn't opening fully.
