I've never ran my car at a track but I'd like to.

Unfortunately the closest track is a 1/8mile and the 1/4 is a good drive away.

probably 15.4-15.5, if you can get a good run.
my first time at the track, i couldnt break 15s. it was horrible. i didnt feel that bad though, cuz a guy i knew there who had an FD3S RX-7 running 16.5. :D

Man that's pretty fucking bad to run that in an RX-7. But then again I've never even ran at the track so I don't have any room to talk.

those are twin turbo. he said he was running negative boost (whatever that means)

bimmerjim®

had his charge pipe conected to the turbo inlet???

did you see the "twin turbos" with your own eyes? turbo rx7s should run mid 14's

ALL 3rd-generation (FC3S) rx7's were twin-turbo, from the factory.

right, but theres the off chance that his stock twin rotor poped and apex seal (they NEVER no that ) and he droped in a 2nd gen NA 2 rotor.

If they guy owned a 3g RX-7 I think he would be smart enough to replace it with the same twin-charged motor. And even if he did blow his apex seal, it's CAKE to replace it. I think he woulda done that before swapping in another motor (especially the NA 2g).

I've never heard of negative pressure and I've owned 2 boosted vehicles. Maybe the guy just cant drive.

lets not get into a debate about this. fact is, it was far to slow for what it is and should be faster than it is. my responce was a hypothetical suggestion as to why. all in an attempt to be funny, witch it wasnt. so, lets nevermind that.

im still puzled over the negitive boost thing.

Wasn't it a 2nd gen though.

All 2nd gen turbos had that cool short wide hood scoop. Although I know a couple of guys with na rx-7s that got the turbo hood for them.

that'd be quite a shame if it were the case.

my dad had a twin-turbo rex while i was in high school. that thing was fucking slam-you-back-in-the-seat FAST.

i seem to remember it saying 16.0 for a 325i. i would check, but i have no idea where the hell my owners manual is.

i do know of a few sites that list a lot of 1/4 mile times. ill see if i can find one.

i called the compnay that built my car today, and told them i am the owner of their old 325is. The guy sounded so happy, and i wanted to know what was actually done to the car when he had it. Besides everything i have in receipts, belts and stuff changed every 40k and a remanufactured head from bmw (1600 bucks  ) so we began to talk and he asked if i had dynoed it or ran it at the track and i said no. i told him i got a chip,m30 afm, adj. fuel pressure regualtor, ik16 denso iridium plugs,8mm ignition wires, short shifter, header, and intake. next was thinkin about turbocharging it soon.Thats when he told me that when he dynoed it in 1993 he had put out 171.2hp to the wheels! He told me that the car had high compression pistons but he didnt remember what they were, im thinkin10.5-1 and also a ported head. That, 19lb injectors, schrick 272 cam, free-flow exaust, and a 4.10 lsd. So i was begging to find out what he ran, he told me that he had rana 14.722@93.2 mph. i was soo happy. he said hed like me to drive down there and let him check it out and he would pay for gas and maybe offer on my car. So why would he sell it in the first place? Him and his wife got a devorce and somehow she ended up with it and selling it for 2800 bucks, and i seemed to of bought it from the second owner for 3000 bucks  great first car. i knew she had a little more pep then most m20's. Now i need the dyno slips and track slips to post!
What in the world would you guys think i can run now?
