Welcome to e30tech.
If it has not been changed by a previous owner the engine for your 325i is a 2.5.

The M20 blocks do have a engine displacement stamped somewhere on the engine, the location escapes me.
M20B25 (M20 engine code, B denotes gasoline, 25 denotes 2.5L) engines have an '885 series head, although this is hard to see just looking at the engine in the car with nothing removed. If your redline is 6500 you most likely have a 2.5.
Apparently no convertibles ever came in the 325e format, Baur convertibles maybe. Only 325i and 318i verts were made, apparently the 318i version isn't spectacular because the convertible is heavier than the regular coupe.
