View Full Version : Bosch W-8-LCR or WR-8-LC???

I went to Napa to pick up some new plugs. I wanted the Bosch W8LCR supers but they wanted to give me 2 W8LCRs and 4 WR8LC. They only had these six so there was no other choice - except leave them all and walk out which is what I did. The W8LCR had an R6 under the word SUPER and the WR8LCs had an R1 under Super. So are these plugs different or did they just change the part number? Thanks.

Part number was changed. They are the same thing. On the Wr8-LC's you might have to twist the cap off on the end where the wires connect.

Its official from the 2005-2006 bosch catalog.

W8LCR converts to WR8LC.

Trying to pawn off there old stock on ya. Typical Napa business.

Scroll down to page 29.

i was told to stay away from bosch supers. (have em in my car anyways) but if i had to replace them, i think everyone said to stay away from them.

EDIT: nevermind i'm a complete dumbass. its bosch platinums that are bad. everyone hit me.

Thanks for all your responses. I was mainly concerned about the heat rating but since they're both the same I don't have to worry any more.

What step are those plugs?

W5DC are 3steps colder than stock.

They are stock... W8xxx is what the M20 wants, W5DC are 3 steps colder than the standard "8" temp plugs.

So now the W5DC is called WR5DC+ it seems based on the chart.
