What's the saying?
Idle hands are devils tools, or something like that..

Anyway, how much is a fuel filter?
And is there a diffrent BMW or other O.E filter that is "better" that fits our cars?

I think it might be clogged...
Why? Because I'm bored and want to fix something!!!!!

Call your local BMW dealer...tell them what year your E30 is and they will look up the price. Tell them you are a BMW CCA member so you get a discount (they do not check memberships)

I suggest giving Hendrick BMW in Charlotte NC a call they offer a 25% discount for BMW CCA members.. I got ALL my restoration parts from them

a filter is a filter. just make shure you put it in the right direction :D. you can use pritty much any fuel filter. it dosent have to be OEM. i have an aluminum body staneless steel filter thats inline from the pump to the rail.

if your cars stock, its not gonna flow very much, something like 90 lbs/hr. think of it this way, your fuel line is 5/16". it can flow 500 hp at 42 psi.

I didn't do it yet, and I don't think I will...

Bimmerjim..
Remember that black little fuel pressure reg. I think it is...
rightnext to the fuel pump.. It looks like a little box.
You know what I'm talking about?

I was thinking of just removing that...
Or does that actual make the pressure???

DAMN I'M SO BORED (Jobless)

Yeah I've got two kids and a wife that keep me busy. I wish I had an engine to put in my car so I could do something fun (not that the kids and wife aren't fun).

that is a pulsation dampiner, it also holds fuel pressure in the line so once you shut off the car, the fuel pressure stay. it helps with warm starting (acording to BMW) its not hurting anything. ,might as well elave it there.

It could definitely be clogged... But if it is, I think the car would really just run like total crap. Mann Filters or Mahle Filters meet or exceed BMW O.E. specs. In 3 years, and about 30,000 miles, I'm on my second fuel filter. It was the first thing I replaced when I bought my e30, and when the car mysteriously started bogging, bucking, and hesitating, I suspected the fuel filter. Sure enough, I pulled it out, and not only did it feel about twice as heavy as the new one, the crap coming out of it was jet black. Put in the new one, and all my problems went away. I assumed BMW would recommend changing it every 30,000 miles.... like an air filter. WRONG. They actually recommend changing it about every 15,000! Who knew? I ALWAYS put in 91 octane or better.... suppose I need to be more careful about where I gas up.

Bosch is like as good or better than OEM.
