ok, my son is finally back in the white two door e30, so now I can do the head gasket on the four door.

he said before school let out for Christmas that another kid and he were talking about cool cars and the guy told him he had seen a very nice looking older white two door bmw in the parking lot a few times. Jason laughed and told him it was his. the guy was very impressed with how clean and original the car was so I think Jason loves his car even more now that people are commenting on it (even if they did not know it was his, ha ha ha)

he took the old water pump out by taking even less stuff off than I do. I was very impressed. he only pulled the fan, radiator, shroud, hoses, distributor, timing belt cover, and alternator belt. I never thought to leave the filter box in place but since he did it from under the car and above, he didn't have to remove that.

and oddly, his long crank cold start is now gone so we wiggled or moved something that made his car start like the four door. we had not gotten around the checking for that yet but now we don't have to.

and his Christmas present showed up and is stashed in the garage. I got him front and rear strut tower bars from garagistic, in red. I put them on the four door and he always talks about how cool they look so I got him some.
