Default Project Cashmere, she will be missed

I had a sunday off and the weather was nice for once, so I started fixing rust/dents on the good old 325iX. This car holds the title of the first iX I have ever owned so she is getting a restoration.

Here are a few pictures of the cancer shes got, and some of the cancer/dents that I fixed today.

I am stripping paint on a spare trunk I have.

The factory body kit is being replaced with a set of large fender flares and some new skirts. Front and rear valances are not decided yet, but I am thinking m-tech2 ones...

Nice...good luck. Last picture is a little unnerving though my IX has some issues as well.

Yeah, that is the fender, most of the damage is just that. But there is some rust holes in the floor pan on both sides.

Welll... I plan to use the 2002 style ones along with some skirts, not sure what skirts yet though. I would like to go for the beefy rally car look on this one.

I think I am going to sell my Ronal Turbos and get a set of Schmidt TH line 17x8 like these

I am hoping to be moving to florida next year sometime, so the car will go from snow duty to become a beach/sand dune runner.

Are you going to repair the entire floor pans or do patches?
Post some pictures of the floor rust.

I will just be doing patches on the floor pan as its only the front jack pads that have the big holes in the floor. The rockers have a couple holes that I will cut out and weld a plate over, no need to blend the metal on the rocks when its going to be covered anyways.

That sounds good, just be careful welding you don't want to melt any hidden wires. I know a guy that did it without knowing and 2 years later crazy problems started showing up. That was fun to figure out.
