Default 3.73 gear set

In theory, I have always been curious about running 3.73 gears in my iX. My understanding is that they were used in automatic and manual Euro cars. I guess my question is about actual production numbers. Has anyone ever seen/had them.

The part number for the 3.73 front differential is as follows:
31501211837
Realoem - http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...87&hg=31&fg=15

Cross reference:

Wondering how hard it would be to find this gear set??? Any Europeans out there with some insight?

3.73 gears were used in early model automatic ix's. early model manual ix's used 3.64 gears. All late model ix's had the 3.91m/4.10a gears.

Every once in a while I've seen the 3.73 or 3.64 gears on eBay.de

I picked up a front 3.64 several years ago off german eBay. It's not too difficult if you can find someone over there to facilitate with purchase and shipping.
