Default Worlds Fastest E30, Most Powerful E30

ATTN: As of 08/01/08 any track or dyno figure without a working HTML link to a time slip or dyno chart will be removed. If you have a new HTML link, please PM me with the info. You can use www.photobucket.com <-- free picture and video hosting.

You may have noticed the thread has been heavily...Uh.. Weeded of chit chat posts. The only ones I left were the posts that had dyno sheets, time slips, or specific info.. Posts with broken/missing links and/or non working pictures were removed as well. ...Please, only post if you are adding new info, or updating old info. Otherwise, expect to get your post deleted.

Rules:
Dyno charts and or time slips are required for you to be listed. We will be listing horsepower numbers in WHP. If you have engine dyno figures, please adjust them accordingly for drive train loss. Please PM me, or iXer if you have any specific questions or if any info below is incorrect. Post your comments or questions regarding someones setup/time/hp etc in a new thread. Scroll down for more specific info requirements.

Help: To classify as "stock block" you must have a stock block with factory internal rotating components. Any after market parts (i.e. forged) including; bearings, rods, pistons, or crank... any parts not found in a factory e30, puts you out of the stock block class and into the built class. It is okay to have mixed (e30 specific) parts. Furthermore, "F.I." means forced induction. This includes a turbocharger, a supercharger, nitrous oxide injection or any combination of those three. “All motor” means no F.I. Of any kind. "s" designates 'stock' and "NS" designates 'Not stock'

Please include the following info:
- Year, make, model. engine code, stock block/forged components
- Power adder(s)
- Time slip @ ___ bar/psi. - with pic
- Dyno chart @ ___ bar/psi. - with pic
- A track video, or dyno video if you have one.
- A pic of your cars exterior.
- A pic of the engine bay.

..and any other info you'd like to share.

1989 BMW 325i 180K miles on original motor/body.
2.5l Turbo Engine:
Stock longblock besides:
12.9 metric blue head bolts (torqued to 70ft-lbs)
gasket matched head, intake /exhaust

Turbo mods:
42# Lucas hi-imp injectors (stock 3bar fuel pressure)
255lph walbro fuel pump
Turbonetics T04b Super V-trim turbo
Turbonetics 35mm deltagate wastegate
Turbo XS RFL BOV
12x20x3" bar plate intercooler
Custom 2.5" intercooler tubing
524td modified exhaust manifold
3" full exhaust with Magnaflow muffler
stock ignition with 8mm leads and NGK br7es plugs and Blaster 2 coil
Megasquirt standalone fuel computer
Turbo XS manual boost controller

Drivetrain/suspension/wheel mods:
Clutchnet 4puck unsprung Clutch disk with factory pressure plate
2.93LSD differential
Bav Auto race linkage short shifter
Eibach springs, bilstein sport shocks
16" Milli Miglia wheels with firehawk GTA tires (junk)
Raced on 18" Ace wheels with spacers and 215/35/18 nankang sport tires (also junk )

Time slip: 13.801@ 107.15mph (9psi of boost, creeping close to 10psi at 6K rpm)

This was run on 18" wheels all four corners and and I had a large leak in my wastegate...which was causing very poor spool. I'm building up a new setup...but just wanted to post, just so i'm on the board. WE need to get more turbo guys to get times, and post their slips/dyno sheets, I'm no exception.

It was also 78deg ambient temperature, and the track was slick that day from what the officials were telling me. 1st gear was very hard to launch out of....even with 2.93's

saw jims mention of not having to be turbo and thought id add mine if anyones interested

list of the mods and stuff are here http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/...showtopic=4080

based on other 325i running on the same dyno, works out to about 190hp at fly. a friend of mine's 2.7i got 88kW and similar torque. another friends e34 540iS got 170kW. pretty happy with the dyno, as power doesnt really peak until just before redline, and flat torque curve. A/F ratios are only a little off.

havnt run a 1/4 yet, would probably expect mid 15's

Ran the car again, on low boost (off the 10psi spring) and no boost controller. The max boost it ran was 171kpa, which converts to 10.4 psi

I ran 2 almost identical runs, both with shitty shitty launches. I need new tires, and i need work on my launch technique.

This is a COMPLETELY stock M20 with just stronger head bolts, and 183K miles.

Here are the specs on the run:

intake temp at start: 90deg F

Max boost: 10.4psi

Tires: Off brand all season 205/60/15's

Vehicle weight with me and 1/4 tank: 2680 (that's what the tracks scale said at least)

Here is the slip:

1989 325is. TCD manifold, turbo is a TO4e .60 a/r 57 trim. turbine is .58 a/r P trim , metric blues with stock head gasket, tuned with megasquirt, spec stage 3 clutch, hankook street tires, gutted interior, no ac, no radio, not much in the trunk. It could have been a little bit lighter, not much though. I'm not sure the exact weight but it is lighter than stock. This was my first time at the track with this car, lots of fun, a pain to launch quickly. max boost was around 13 psi. Next time I run, it will be on slicks. I hope to move up a rung...
