Default late model bumpers on early model e30

i have a 85 325 e been looking for a later model but hard to find for some reason .my question is can i swap my diving boards to the later models plastics or is it even possible?and if so where can i find some for sale ?thanks

ha deffinetly wondering the same thing, i tucked my bumpers already but would prefer something like a 90 or 91 bumper style

Yes the 89+ plastic bumpers will work. But the rear will need to be modified to fit.

- the front bumper/valence is a direct swap. You will have to cut the tow hook off, though.

- you will need to modify the rear bumper to fit. It is too long and won't fit without modification.

- you may want to consider welding or in some other fashion attaching a rear valence from a late-model car under the rear bumper, so that it will look better.

- yes it will look better.

- look in the For Sale subforum. If you're desperate, post in the Wanted section.

there is a couple do it yourselfs out there, you just gotta look, its easy to tuck the bumpers, check mr. anderson for converting to later bumpers, it takes some work but yeah it looks good
